What program are you trying to talk to the W2 with? Can you use the terminal in the K3 Utility to send commands to it? The idea being to establish whether there is a problem with the particular software you are using and VSPE. Does it work if you connect to the real serial port without VSPE and any other program running?
Sorry I don't have a W2 so perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree here. But I do know that I can't use the latest version of Fldigi with VSPE, which does suggest to me that some programs may not like working with VSPE for some unknown reason. ----- Julian, G4ILO.
