I agree with Bill's comments about Perseus, I bought one last year to use primarily as a backup spectrum analyser. Not only is Perseus' performance as a receiver good in all modes, but it also does a fine job as a spectrum analyser and/or a panadapter, which would be useful to a SWL should she/he become licensed.
