Susan, are you running through an interface? What kind of cable are you using? HRD requires that you use a comm port that is not shared with other processes.
I'm running Vista on a Dell laptop with HRD v5/DM780 through a Navigator interface to the K3. Have no problems except as Nick has already noted. HRD freaks if it loses comm with the radio.
