Hi All,
Antistatic wrist straps usually come with a built in resistor for safety. Depending on the design, it could be a resistor built into the banana plug ( usually) or conceivably a lower conductivity in the strap material itself. This is for safety as I recall.
If the resistor is in the plug, it should be easy to bypass. You'll want to make sure it is bypassed or removed to ensure maximum conductance from the source box.
