actually the firmwares are always nearly the same but the
configuration was also stored in the
external files.

can you provide the windows driver which is expected to work fine with
your device in Windows?
Maybe I got a too new version since I experience the same problem in
windows too - I'm still unsure if
it's a problem with my signal generator either yet.
