There was a working prototype a couple of years ago by Keisuke Nishida (of Guile-VM fame). See, for example <http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/guile-devel/2001-04/msg00412.html> It looked very promising (as did Guile-VM); but I don't know the whereabouts of this bright person. Regards -- tomas
