If I understand correctly, fontspec+fallback will not work for CJK,
since TeX's Kunth-Plass line-breaking algorithm only works for latin.
Also punctuations need special handling, in a way similiar to
ligatures.

IMO it's necessary to at least support LuaTeX as an alternative to
XeTeX.
