Really apologize for the late response, have been super busy recently :x  Will 
take a look at this (and the detangling patch, also by me) when I get some time.

p.s.: I made this patch for the purpose of rendering environments that are not 
supported by MathJax as images, without being annoyed by redefining all the 
macros.  But later, I figured out a better solution that utilizes the async 
org-latex-preview, so I'm not sure about whether this patch is still that 
valuable.

In short, it's superior than rendering images directly because in that way: 1) 
it's really slow; 2) you lose preview.
