What about emitting this information as a warning? That should make it more visible. They are quite powerful. I have no intention to downgrade the features available in org-latex-*-config. What I am looking for is a way to feed into these variable using simple in-buffer keywords. The keywords, if present, will override parts org-latex-*-config.
