Oh okay, i didn't realise DAVdroid was FOSS. DAVdroid makes use of the ez-vcard library, which is BSD-licensed, and certainly seems like it might be useful. However, i'm not sure to what extent the sync-specific functionality of DAVdroid can be separated from the rest of the app; superficially, it seems like it's fairly tightly integrated. But if nothing else, it does show how it can be done! Thank you. :-) Alexis.
