What files ``and things like that'' are those? If they are related to Emacs (and CSIDL_APPDATA is set to HOME _only_ by Emacs for its own use), then that's a very reasonable use of "Application Data", IMO. > %USERPROFILE% may not be perfect, but it generally has the desirable > property of being the longest common prefix of the various other > interesting places.
