Hm.  Hmmmm...  There is supposed to be code in Tramp which discovers
the EOL format used by the remote shell.  Hm.

Do the problems occur while setting up the connection, or does it
occur in tramp-open-connection-setup-interactive-shell?  What does the
debug buffer say?
