I like the idea of having a unified outbox, and showing the current
message state (draft, queued, sending, sent) as a property of the
message. It removes a lot of the magic that happens when sending
messages, and makes the current location of a queued message
predictable and obvious, regardless of how far long the sending
process it is.
Perhaps we could show this in the user interface as a folder that can
be opened to reveal individual sub-folders for each message state, if
we need these sub-folders.
