Good god this sounds like a horrible idea. User interface nightmare.
(For example, how do I see the state of all of my folders? How do I
change multiple folders? Etc.)
Xcode anyone? Lots of multiple values for Debug/AdHoc/Release...
I thought this were a MUA for us developers?

filters, in the privacy of their own email client.
Not possible.
Say, I have different folders for different projects, in which I
collect emails from/to the same people.
Only I can decide into which folder an email from my buddy belongs,
but the answer I write him belongs in that same folder 99.9%.
Consenting adults should be able to do what they want, as long as it
doesn't hurt others.
Default: Put sent mails to Sent folder.
Option_1: Put replies in the the same folder as the original
Option_2: Put replies in the trash after sending them
Does the default option hurt you?
