i have to disagree with this one. i much prefer that search is performed in the 
window i'm looking at. spawning new windows is annoying. i'm sure there's a way 
to make it nice and clear that you're viewing search results. i'd suggest that 
the search bar becomes more prominent, which could also provide more room for 
filters, etc.

i think mint.com handles this pretty well, though it could be called out more 
prominently. i also really like their additive search approach. if you're 
viewing a filtered list, searching again further filters that list, and you can
