Firefox has a very distinctive name, and they created a good logo to fit that. Letters is not a distinctive name. The NNW looks good at large sizes and looks like not much of anything at Finder list icon size (or even at dock size in my dock). The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a stylized @ sign. SOmething based on the Zapfino @, maybe? I know NNW is quite popular around these parts, but I'm not a huge fan. I don't like any of its layouts, and I don't like how it loads pages into the list/preview window area, nor do I like how once you've loaded a window, your List/preview pane are now reduced in size until you close all those 'tabs' and then the list/preview suddenly pops back to the old size. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the app; but I don't think it's that great an example of a UI and it's not a UI I want in Letters.
