Dave, I have an old external Yamaha 4260 SCSI CDRW drive hooked up to my 7600/G3/400 - slow but still chugging along - and bought a newer external Que! (Yamaha2100E mechanism) Firewire CDRW drive for use with the 7600 (which has a Firewire pci card installed) and with an iBook Dual - and both came with Toast. Yamaha has always had a good rep with Mac users - and support Macs with Toast on all or most of their CDRW drives, far as I know.
