>I have told them at LEAST 15 times I am NOT using EUDORA...but yet, here >is my latest missive from ATT -- what makes them think their CHAT people >can fix this? I've talked on the phone with them for hours about >this..<sigh>
They didn't say you WERE using Eudora... they asked what client you are using... AND that they know of a problem with Eudora and it is being fixed. This is fairly standard... when they know that a bunch of support emails are going to be about Eudora... they try to stop it at the pass by publicly stating that they know of a Eudora problem. That is NOT the same thing as saying YOU use Eudora. You also have to realize, that they are very very unlikely to even bother addressing your problem... why... because you use Claris Emailer, which is not a supported client. Everything works fine for Outlook, and you have the option of changing clients... and they are big enough to not need your business... so as far as they are concerned, they aren't going to waste what may work out to literally be a few thousand dollars, addressing an issue that only effects an EOL'd email client that has a dwindling marketshare on a platform that has less than 5% marketshare itself. So what YOU need to do, is figure out WHY it works for Outlook, but NOT for Emailer. Or figure out how to make it NOT work for Outlook. Only once you have hard, logged, technical explinations for the problem... and easily reporducable, will they even begin to consider addressing the issue. So, your best bet to start seeing what the difference between outlook and emailer are, is to run a stream log and compare the two mail sessions. See where they differ. What commands are being sent that are different, what might be triggering the problem. AND, is the problem with the mail server (improper function, or breaks an RFC) or is the problem with Emailer! -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
