With Emailer, you can have as many copies setup like this running at the same time, as you want. As for other email apps, many apps will look first in their own folder for their prefs, and then if they don't find them, they will look in the prefs folder... but not all apps. So it is really just a trial and error kind of thing (and some apps are setup to deliberatly disallow this kind of thing) >I haven't tried the ResEdit mod yet but it sounds like a good idea to >avoid possible confusion. I've always been wary of using ResEdit having >heard some horror stories about screwing things up. If you are in OS 9 or prior, you can just copy the icon from the Get Info window, modify it in your favorite program, and then paste it back in to the Get Info window. That avoids ResEdit entirely. If you are in OS X, you can also do this, but you must paste the icon back in as a 128x128 icon. The problem is, when you copy it out it comes out as a 32x32. So you need to increase its size. On my first pass of doing this, it caused the icon to be badly pixelated. I could have installed GraphicConverter or something that would have done a better job at scaling it, but for me it was just as easy to edit the icon directly in ResEdit and bypass the need for a 128x128 version. So if you aren't comfortable with ResEdit, there are non invasive ways around it. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
