Emailer Talk List, Long time satisfied user of Claris Emailer 2.0v3. Running it for the past 3 years on a Graphite G4 (Sawtooth) under OS 9.0.2 with no problems. Last week for no apparent reason it crashed with Type 2 error. I ran utilities (DiskWarrior/Tech Tools Pro - my system was fine and all else works OK). Emailer still crashed...
Moved the Claris Emailer folder (and the prefs file from the System Folder) over to my G4 Cube running 9.1. Same Type 2 crashing. Held down Option upon launching Emailer and selected "advanced rebuild" which completed successfully, that didn't fix the problem, same Type 2 error crashing. Trashed that copy of Emailer then reloaded it again fresh onto the Cube and dragged the Index file into the Mail folder, then launched Emailer, it started rebuilding the database. That rebuild completed OK. Then launched Emailer but still the same Type 2 error crashing. In both instances I did trash the original Prefs btw...Also tried moving a copy of the original Emailer folder onto the Cube with a copy of the Emailer app itself from my backup that does launch OK - see below. That didn't cure the Type 2 crashing. Note - Emailer had approx. 9800 messages in the In box and thousands more sorted into various folders I did have a year old back up that DOES run just fine on both of my systems. But I really need to fix the original copy to salvage a years worth of emails and the current version of my address book. Should have been backing up more frequently...Any ideas??
