Hi, I *almost* bought an OfficeMail package at MacWorld. One of the "Antique software" vendors had a stack of them. I had never seen it for sale before. But I was thinking that if it was a viable mail server, I would be stoked to use it. They wanted $40 for the OfficeMail, which does include 5 licenses for Emailer.
I was able to do some research and discover that the Officemail server is NOT a standards based email server, and even though it mentions POP & SMTP on the box, it REQUIRES an analog modem and a UUCP account to function. It absolutely will not function as a "normal" internet email server. So says one of the authors regretfully. Oh well. So it's not a useful internet email server, although you could use it for internal company emails only, but they wouldn't be able to get outside of the building. Shucks. However, Jamie's is the best price I have seem on a sealed box of 5 copies of Claris Emailer, but you should disregard the OfficeMail server unless you're especially fond of dial up modems & know where to get a UUCP account that you can dial into. Claris doesn't provide them anymore. Just sharing my research.
