Do I detect a tad of sarcasm? :-) If so, I can see how many people would agree with you. But honestly, my computing needs are relatively simple- word processing, student grade entry in a grade book program, logging my miles running and cycling, Quicken for banking and investments, web browsing, sending email with a cable modem connection, storing photos from digital camera, and other simple stuff like that. My iMac with OS 9.2.2 does all those things so smoothy that I have a hard time visualizing how OS X could do them better. Would it open the applications faster, scroll faster, etc? I suppose so, but those things happen fast enough for me now without going though the pain of dealing with a new system. >The only problem I know is letting Emailer turn >off OS Xs modem connections, which is a bit much to ask for - also >dialing out works if you let apps initiate PPP connections (check >"connect automatically")- and also the problem with first account time >out when connecting by modem. I'm not even sure what that means, but it does sound like something new I'd have to deal with. >While do you ignore my positive Emailer/OS X reports. They have been >coming for a long time. Its not so much ignoring them as losing them in the clutter. It seems like there have been other reports about OS X that were not quite so positive. And I guess the bottom line relates to my comment about seeing little reason to upgrade in the first place. I suppose that when I finally see some good reason to upgrade to OS X, then I'll start reading the posts about using Emailer with it more carefully. Until then, its hard to focus on them when they don't directly concern me. Hopefully, I will have saved some that will ease the transition for me, but of course Apple may have moved on to OX 11 by then so that I'll still be behind the curve.
