If initiate an internet connection is enough, you just have to allow Remote Access to open a connecion when an application wants a net connection. Check "options" in RC panel.
For disconnecting you can set it to disconnect after 5 or whatever minutes of inactivity. Don't leave web pages open though with these settings on as ad reloading may initiate a connection then. If you want to ba able to have the cake and eat it, you can make a location profile with the location manager and have one for "online" that allows for initiated connections and one "offline" that doesn't. Then just toggle this with the appropriate Control Strip panel when you go offline. >Works fine if I connect first but Emailer cant seem to initiate the dial up. >Have I done something wrong? I'm not sure, but I think some of the stuff that Emailer used to be able to control a connection was removed OS 9. I think we have list understanding on whether to you use the approach given above or some other model, from a while back. If you're having an online service such AOL or whatever you needs and possibilities may be different. But that is not my territory. And if you're on 9.2, make sure you have updated to 9.2.2, as 9.2.1 IMHO sucks basically. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
