OK, I think I "get" it.  Don't "put" returns at the end of every single 
line.  But, you know, if as someone has said, Emailer is hard-wired to 
wrap at 72 characters, then why doesn't it wrap at 72 characters as I 
compose on the screen?   I have followed your advice and not incorporated 
any punching of the "return" key with this reply.   As a result, the wrap 
doesn't happen until maybe 110 characters..... which is confusing to me.

However, I live with confusion in my life;  so there's really no problem. 
 Is there?
