I question "suddenly come around". Apple has performed better technically since Job's return and Mossberg has noted it consistently.
Mossberg has also reviewed programs like iPhoto and iTunes favorably and refers to Mac's as "excellent" commonly. I do not think he got out of bed one day and said "I gotta have a MAC!"
Walter Mossberg has been ". . . coming around. . . " for several years. He wrote what I call his "mea culpa" article prior to OS 10. One factor is his wife choosing an iMac early.
He has gone from don't buy Mac because Apple will not survive to these things work for home use to these things handle lots of stuff well to these functions are better on a Mac to the article last week.

. . . Yes, a stunning performance for a guy who has, in the past, dumped on the
Mac. The fact that he's suddenly come around certainly says something
about the seriousness of Windows' security issues, but it's not clear to
me that Mossberg's judgement about anything less glaring is any better
than it's ever been. Maybe the fact that he's finally praising the Mac
marks the beginning of the slide he's so unsuccessfully predicted in the
past..."
