This is my first post to the group. I am a longtime Mac user (advanced beginner) who is still learning my way around OS X.
I have used claris emailer for my AOL account since its 1995 debut and it has been one of my all time favorite applications. Never had a moment of difficulty until recently. I'm now up to emailer 2.0v3 in classic OS 9.2 on an ibook G4. My OS X is v10.3.5. We have wireless network connection via Apple airport base station. Comcast supplies our broadband cable service. Two glitches have developed over the past month or so: 1) When I click connect now, the connection window shows "reading 1 of x" and displays "unpacking messages" but the messages don't actually appear in the inbox. In order to get those messages to unpack I have to compose and sent a new message to myself (@ aol). When I connect again, that one message plus the no-shows from the prior connection session pop into the inbox. Note: This does not happen when I boot up my old ibook G3 in OS 9.1 (that computer has AOL version 5.0). 2) Claris emailer/AOL connection is aborted when trying to send or receive messages containing file attachments (regardless of file size). This happened on both the ibook G4 and the ibook G3 in OS 9.1 with AOL v5.0. Here's the transcript of what happens: <<<Connection Error Log: Execution of Schedule "Connect Now" at<day><date><time> Connectingto America Online using Account <my aol account name> reading 1 of 2 **connection timed out waiting for host **The connectionwas broken while reading the message" ". AOL has moved this message to its "Read Mail" folder. You can use the AOL software to retrieve this message Disconnecting.>>> I phoned my husband at his office to see if he knew what might be going on and he said he has had the same trouble with claris emailer on his office iMac (same OS X but different ISP-he has a DSL connection cause comcast doesn't serve that area). He suspects it has to do with AOL changing some settings. I asked if he had contacted AOL about it and he just said "no, but good luck trying to get an answer from them". He's not all that bothered, but I am much more dependent on emailer-it does a great job managing my history listserv messages . I just do not want to deal with what it would take to switch multiple folders, subfolders and address books over to Entourage, Outlook, or OS X Mail. Does anyone know how I might get these glitches resolved? Any help would be appreciated. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
