I am a Comcast customer as well, and for the most part I've had good luck 
with their service.  I was having a network stream error yesterday, but 
that rectified itself, and the problem was probably at my end.  The 
problem you describe is not familiar to me.  Sorry to be of no help in 
your diagnosis.
