We have this problem with mail sent from our company office. I can send
and receive at home without problems using email (except to the Emailer-X
list for some reason!) But emails sent using Outlook Express via a
different ISP often get "black holed". The main culprit seems to be AOL,
although some Hotmail users reported not receiving our replies. It's
gotten so bad that we've had to exclude AOL users from accessing our
on-line ordering system because 50% were not receiving our replies.

I'm afraid this isn't a very helpful reply but I did wonder if your
recipients who have problems are mostly AOL users?
