I used to get bounces too and they  stopped as of about 12 months ago 
(June 2004 when I took an e-mail list and accidentally did a "replace" 
which changed all the "periods" in the addresses to commas - I did not 
receive one bounce and no one received my e-mail confirming their 
registration to a conference )...and I have not changed service 
providers....
