When you attempt to shutdown Emailer during the course of a transmission, there should be a dialogue box appear which says Emailer is Sending, and asks if you wish to Stop Sending and Quit, or two other options, from which you must choose in order to proceed. If this box isn't appearing when you try to close down Emailer during transmission, there's something awry with your Emailer; I'm not sure what.
