The OSX list archives is still down so I am hoping I can get a mini tutorial from my Emailer friends on the best way to install OSX (Tiger) on my laptop.
I am upgrading my iMac from Panther to Tiger but my computer fella also gave me a 10.4.3 install DVD to make the laptop installation more straight forward. The G3 Pismo has a small HD so I want to wipe it clean and keep its contents smaller than the iMac. I will back all files on a firewire external drive. 1)I need to be reminded as to how best to reinstall OS 9.2.2 and Emailer. ( BTW, I have the orig OS 9 install CD and I have kept the 9.2.1 & 9.2.2 downloaded .sit updates files.) Do I just move the folders back in? (CE Preferences are already moved to the CE Folder.) 2) My laptop and my desktop are connected via ethernet (and Appletalk) to a modem/router (thanks Martin for your advice on this subject!). Will I need to take note of any info in any OS9 control panel and transfer it somewhere else in OSX? Thank you in advance for any tips! Tannis p.s.
