Sorry everyone - I finally realized that my TMM Panther guide might have the answer and it told me about fast switching and the "X" key start up method.
Should have gone there first as it worked very neatly. I am now loathe to do any switching back and forth although TMM lists several fast switching methods - I think I shall just cut and paste on the rare occasion that I need to print.
