Neville,
Sorry to hear of your computer woes. When I had screen problems (due
to the fiber optic cable running through a hinge, I think), I replaced
my Ti G4 1 GHz screen after buying a complete top assembly with screen
and cable on EBay for about US$300. Screen replacement requires almost
complete disassembly of the computer. You'll have to buy a couple of
very small Torx T-6 and T-8 screwdrivers, an anti-static wriststrap,
and a 4 mm nutdriver ($20-30), and download and refer to a disassembly
manual online using another computer. I bought one electronically from
a website, and then found another one free for downloading.
Useful websites included:

Very useful takeapart manual for most models. See the last page for a
VERY useful screwguide. Print it out and use it during disassembly.

Works fine now. Good luck, Andy

Hi All,
Disaster ! Today I dropped my G4 Titanium Powerbook 867MHz and have
broken a hinge,
torn a chunk from the screen housing and damaged the catch. Anyone any
clues where
I might find replacement second hand case parts ?
Regards Neville
