Being that I'm the guy that has to service everything, I know my 
cumulative failure rates... and I can still safely say that I have had 
exactly ZERO problems from static in the 26 or so years that I've had my 
hands inside computers.

But like I said, I don't advocate anyone actually taking my experience as 
the way to go... just because I play roulette with my hardware doesn't 
mean anyone else should.
