On Mac, this is a problem. In order to really have the text you have to either - run it thru an OCR program, and afterwards edit with a wordprocessor. OR - find a non-graphical printer driver such as for the Apple Imagewriter, and edit the printfile.
Any recent Apple printerdriver since the Apple LaserWriter does not send the text 'as text', but as graphics commands. What you also can do, is use the Emailer Archive in FileMaker, transfer the messages, and edit whatever you like. But editing incoming messages is tricky.. unless you want to create the mail where I supposedly invited the entire list for dinner. :-) In that case I will reply with an 'edited' mail saying you did promise to do the dishes.. Other solutions are products from Scansoft or Adobe which are not free. And since Claris Emailer is text-based, we could come up with a script that we baptise: "Copy/Paste the whole messages into WORD".
