Didn't have to specify anything about what appl opened what kind of file. Assumed this was because OS X settings were used by default. Now, after reading your post, I think there was no problem because I trashed the contents of the OS 9 Applications folder immediately after installing OS 9. Thus the only appls available to open files were OS X ones. Just opened the Internet cp for the first time and it shows Safari as my browser. If you don't need those OS 9 applications why not trash them and see what happens ?
