Did some testing.... (on the losing extension problem) Happens to both my Emailer installations, even a clean one.
However... did some confirmatory tests. I had someone take a screen capture. (command shift 4) Send me the picture in Mail, by dropping it into the message window. I get it without its name, just "picture". No extension. I had them send it with all extensions showing. same problem. Added as attachment. same problem. jpg and jpeg show up fine. its PDF, PNG and DMG that do not, probably there are other "native" file formats which have this problem.
