For years I happily used Claris Emailer 1.1v4. I'm on an iMac system 9.2.
Over a year ago there was some nasty glitch in downloading a pile up of
email from my webmail. And everything stopped working. I can see that the
files have stuff in them, but when I go to open the application, it acts
like it is opening a brand new blank version of the application, not all my
accumulated files.
I have been using my webmail instead for a year. Now I have to get a real
email program happening, and get a year's worth of stuff off my webmail and
onto my hard drive. As I messed around with the files after the freeze (big
don't...), and as I know of no other email program out there which I like as
well, I suspect that the best thing I can do is somehow to start fresh.
Like, find a way to reinstall 1.1v4, or something sufficiently similar that
I know how to use it. I don't have the original software (I've imported it
from computer to computer way back to my Mac Plus, through the Performa,
etc.) Could someone send me a way to install it, and tell me how to keep my
existing Personal Folders, email collection from before, either separately
or as part of the new system. Separately would be fine, as at this point
it's archival. I do not have CD writing capability on my iMac.
Any advice would be appreciated.
