<http://www.mythtech.net/emailer/Emailer_App_Mods/CE-P3_Port587.sit> I didn't look under the "app mods" on his site. Anyway, Yersinia, this is the one that you want. Happy emailing!> Thank you all (Mark for explaining why I couldn't send on wifi, Chris for the patch to "fix" it, and William for providing the direct link to the one I need)! Although I had hit a free public wifi hotspot on my way up here (I'm in NH now, using a "wireless dialup" connection, hee hee, more on that momentarily since I discovered something interesting), I didn't get to test what would happen if I tried to send on Mail from the public wifi -- and now I don't have to, this is sooo coool! :-) Thanks guys! Oh yeah, here's the "interesting discovery" -- I had been under the impression that in order to pick up my email, I'd have to be connected to my own ISP, so one of the things I did to prep this iBook for my trip was configure the modem to include my ISP's NH access numbers, since my boyfriend uses a different ISP. Well, his service, like mine at home, is also a dialup connection, only he set it up in his house to be wireless. Well, I tried my CE on his connection (if he leaves the modem on and my Airport is on, I'm on!) -- it picked up my email and it also SENT at test mail (I have two email addies) from one account which I picked up from the other. So apparently I need Chris's patch to be able to send email on a wifi server, but I don't if I'm hooked up to another dialup based network, however vicariously? I downloaded Chris's patch from this "wireless dialup" network after I'd necessarily picked up the emails describing it/containing links first.... And yes it's installed, so I'll try it out on my way home. :-) Thanks guys!!! :-D ~Yersinia. ________ "Never ask a man what sort of computer he drives. If it's a Mac, he'll tell you.
