Sure, but bringing in text material is just one of many uses of AppleScript by recording. 1) I recorded a mini-app which opens both Emailer and my web browser both simultaneously, with one click. 2) I use Clipfolio, the OS8/9 multi-clipboard Control Panel. But both its Preferences File and its Data File get out of whack and cause trouble every so often. I recorded a mini-app which trashes the Preferences File and brings in a fresh copy of the Data File both simultaneously, with one click. Etc. So I hoped that the mini-tutorial would help the AppleScript- Challenged (such as myself) to at least do semi-great things via recording.
