I can try its import function, but I find most programs cannot import a

I think the problem with most apps is they use AppleScript to walk thru the mail database and that is prone to failure. However, there are a few out there that can read the database natively. I think those that can do a much better job of handling the mail.

I don't know which way PowerMail does it, but I'd guess they can read the database directly. I think Rich has indicated that MailSmith reads it directly. Surprisingly, Entourage and Outlook Express use the AppleScript approach as far as I know, which I find odd since both are created by the very same guy that created Emailer's mail database structure in the first place! Maybe he ran into ethical issues about using knowledge from one company while working for another.

Emailchemy (I made it to morning), reads Emailer's database directly, that is one of the reasons it does so well at accessing and converting all the emai (or so I've heard, I've never actually tried the app myself).
