Wow, I ought to try this sometime! FWIW, my AppleWorks is 6.2.9.

This must be directed at the original poster, he's the one who wanted to 
try AppleWorks as a drawing program. I don't draw or do anything else 
with graphics or photos of any kind. EVER. I use AW as a word processor!
