In Excel 2004, perhaps you are not liking the default view, which is Page Layout view. If you have some Excel sheets that look fine to you, then you make any Excel sheet mimic it. Try switching to Normal view View -> Normal ...and then increase your magnification above 100%. Magnification is set by... View -> [set a %] Or use the Zoom tool on the toolbar. It is usually on the right side, just before the ? tool. You may also increase both the width and height of any row or column.
