What might this mean, and how can I fix it (if I can)?
Have you tried the .DS_Store file fix? (Delete the Temp Incoming folder)
Oh yes, the "Othr problems". For some reason when I put the G4
(733MHz,
1.5GB RAM, lots of drive space, 10.4.11) to sleep the drives and fan
don't shut down, and when I attempt to wake the Mac (as I have
been for
eons) it doesn't work -- requires a restart. Everything in the Power
Saver panel is set to defaults EXCEPT "Wake when the modem detects a
ring" and "Wake for Ethernet network administrator access".
Have you run a disk check recently? How about repair permissions?
Also, is this the same machine that has the dead firewire? If so, do
you know what killed the firewire? (ie: could you have more problems
then just damaged firewire?)
Have you tried creating a new user, logging in as that user, and then
try putting the Mac to sleep and see if the problem still happens?
