No, hadn't thought of that. Done now -- maybe this will also allow [EMAIL
PROTECTED] to collect =all= my incoming messages -- it didn't get this one this
morning; I'm reading/responding with Mail Siphon.

>Have you run a disk check recently? How about repair permissions?

Yes (Disk Utility, AppleJack, TTPro, DiskWarrior, Macaroni -- not in that
order). And System Profiler shows nothing for FireWire, although I had the
external USB/FireWire drive attached via FW.

>Also, is this the same machine that has the dead firewire?

Yes. Doesn't see the drive above connected via FW, but does show with USB. Also
doesn't see G3 iBook in Target Disk Mode via FWE. Tested with two different FW
cables...

Not a clue. Had no idea until I tried to connect the iBook to transfer a
document, since the 'book is having problems seeing our LAN via wireless.
(Likely unrelated "hinkup" -- as our son was wont to say -- since it should be
talking to the router directly.

Yep -- still doesn't sleep the drives/fan in "Sleep" mode, and won't wake up
w/o a restart. Thanks for the response.

Selah!
