Hangers-0n and remaining Lurkers attention:

You recall how, over the years, we've exchanged our thoughts about
wanting Emailer to "somehow" be made to reappear, enabled to run in
later editions of the Mac OS.

And,yes, some have, and can, run Emailer under Classic.

But with the Intel chips Mac, Apple no longer supports Classic.

.........

Along comes this article in Mac/Windows. com

>Tips for running OS 9 on Intel Macs with SheepShaver; COI Chubby Bunny the
>easiest path

>Readers are using SheepShaver, a free, open-source PowerPC emulator, to
>run Mac OS 9 on Intel Macs. Several have sent in reports and tips, as well
>as locations for downloading. Older PowerPC Macs (G3, G4, and G5) can run
>Mac OS X applications in an emulator-like environmental called Classic. On
>Intel Macs, it is easier to run Windows apps than to run OS 9.
>
>SheepShaver, a PowerPC emulator, can also run Mac OS 9 on Windows PCs. On
>Monday we reported that Michael Goodine had posted a tutorial on setting
>up SheepShaver on how to do this. We received a number of readers
>responses expressing interested interest in using SheepShaver to recreate
>Classic on Intel Macs. Those who have used it say that set up is not easy.

And, an earlier (Monday, Sept 22, 2008 editon of Mac/Window
          ran this:

>Running old Mac OS on PCs; Add Classic to Leopard
>Monday, September 22, 2008
>Michael Goodine has posted a couple of tutorials to running Mac OS 9 and
>earlier on Windows PCs using two open-source PowerPC emulators. He has a [
>http://emaculation.com/sheepshaver/index.html ]guide for using
>SheepShaver, and another for [ http://emaculation.com/basilisk/index.html
>]using Basilisk II. (We have some information on [
>http://www.macwindows.com/macemul.html ]Mac classic emulators for Windows
>PCs, though we haven't updated it recently.)
>It's worth pointing out that SheepShaver and Basilisk II come in versions
>for Mac OS X, which lets you run Mac OS 9 and earlier on Intel Macs, and
>can act as a replacement for Mac Classic, which is no longer included with
>Mac OS X 10.5 and later. Referring to the Mac versions of the PowerPC
>emulators, Goodine said "hey both run pretty well." He points out:
>Actually, the development of both of those emulators has veered in that
>direction [running OS 9 in Leopard]. I think that Mac users have more
>interest in the emulators now. The Windows ports are described as
>"experimental" these days.

While I don't have enough computer smarts to begin to do this , it might
entice some of you to give it a try, for Emailer.

Other people have remarked how they would use it to resurrect work
they've done in Pagemaker and Appleworks... which, if they could be run
in Leopard
(as suggested) would save a lot of people grief.
