I found Powermail could easily be set up to operate in a way pretty similar to Claris Emailer and was the closest to it of the main mail browsers. However, as Chris has suggested, email applications have moved on and the latest versions can perform some useful new tricks. We still use Emailer in the office running under OSX 10.4 but I have had to move on - to PowerMail - on my laptop as I need to run the current OSX 10.5 PowerMail displays some minor instabilities following the system update to 10.5.5 which are due to be fixed, though patches only seem to come around twice a year.
