The attachments to mail in Claris Emailer are in your folder called
Downloads.

I don't know what you mean by that. But if you have Microsoft Office, then
Entourage will be in your Applications folder.
Hard Drive -> Applications -> Microsoft Office [Year] -> Microsoft Entourage
If your Mac came with a demo version of Microsoft Office, I would suggest
you NOT use the demo version. Better to trash it, and install a commercial
version of Microsoft Office.
Using the demo version of Office, and then migrating to commercial version
after the demo version times out, sometimes causes problems with the mail
database.
The Microsoft Office Home version costs about $146. (Of course, Apple's
Mail.app is free, but I don't much like Mail.app. It's all a matter of
taste.)

Glad to help.
Moving from Claris Emailer was a simple process.
Quit Claris Emailer.
Open Microsoft Entourage. Run any updates Entourage might need.
Help -> Check for updates
Restart Entourage.
File -> Import -> Information from a program
-> Claris Emailer 2.0v3
-> [follow the directions, wait for the process to complete]
You might need to set up new Accounts to get and send your email.
Tools -> Accounts -> [complete the information as required]
You will need to know the settings for your mail servers (POP and SMTP), and
you will need to remember your email password. You might open Claris
Emailer -> Accounts, and write this information down to make entry into
Entourage easier for you.
Once you make the switch, and get Entourage set up and working, I think you
will be glad you did. You will be able to easily see all those emails sent
to you by everyone, such as banks, Amazon, stores, NY Times, etc. Back in
the earlier days, I was quite resistant to "HTML Email". But it is the
standard now, and not seeing HTML Email is a handicap.
