Gee, I'm happy that I actually may have helped someone. I thought that
I was just spouting off, because I'm so happy with my new arrangement.

First of all, I was really lucky to get a PowerBook G4 on eBay that
came loaded with not only 10.5.6, but a ton of other software to boot.
I had been watching eBay for that, for a long time - because I know
that companies which resell have to clear off all software other than
the OS, because of the "rights" thing.

I thought that I was going to have to offload all of that to an
external HD in order to reformat to handle the three OS's. But luckily
I bought Pogue's "Missing Manual for Leopard" from amazon.com, and
found out there that Leopard will reformat "on-the-fly" without losing
anytning that is already there. I just followed the instructions, and
SHAZAM, it's reformatted! (See also my reply to Bea's post).

So it looks like we CAN have the best of both worlds, at least for the
forseeable future. It blows me away that the old stuff works BETTER
thru Classic in OSX.

(Of course, I DID buy a new backup HD to safeguard everything.)

Best regards,

Bill
