Hey, eMailer mongers
After deciding to leave eMailer several years ago, I settled on
Mailsmith as the replacement. It has some similar features,
excellent search features, is very scriptable. There are a few
eMailer features that I miss, but not many ... because Mailsmith
does many things as well or better than eMailer.
Recently, Mailsmith's original publisher, Bare Bones Software
(best known for BBEdit, Text Wrangler, Yojimbo, among others)
has spun Mailsmith off to Stickshift Software at
<www.mailsmith.org> . Rich Siegel, its original lead architect,
is still leading the way. best of all, Mailsmith is now a free download.

I must also lament about missing CE. I have been using Apple
Mail for some years now and it is not too bad but I miss CE.
I've been using Mail for a few years myself, and I don’t
understand what some of you don't like about it. It took a bit
of getting used to simply because it had a different look and
feel, but that is true of any new program.
I'm not willing to go to a lot of effort such as creating
partitions or resist progress by not going Intel. Mail comes
free with the OS, gets automatic updates and bug fixes from
Apple, and does everything I need. And when I first made the
move, I was able to import all my posts and folders from CE.
Sometimes the easy way out is the best way out, at least for me.
